Pinkerton Academy’s annual Spirit Week went awry last Thursday, Sept. 22, with students disciplined for racist attire.
One student was disciplined for wearing “blackface” and another for sporting the Confederate flag.
The week included a tie-dye theme on Monday, “Tacky Tourist Day” on Tuesday, “America” on Wednesday, a “blackout” theme Thursday and a “Red and White,” the school colors, on Friday
The “blackout” theme was intended for students to wear all-black clothing, according to Communications Coordinator Bryan Geary. Continue reading
